This privacy policy explains what AI Therapist collects, how it uses it, and how you can control it. We aim for the minimum data needed to run the service. We are not a healthcare provider and AI Therapist is not a clinical service, so please do not share information you would not be comfortable storing on a general information service.
When you first open the app, we create an anonymous account for you on our server. It has an opaque random identifier and a one-time free trial day. No email, name, or personal details are required to use the app.
If you later choose to add an email and password, you can. That lets you sign in on another device and keep your subscription and history. An account is optional and exists only so you do not lose your data.
If you turn on the optional app lock, your passcode is stored only on your device, in the operating system's secure keychain, as a salted hash. We never receive it and cannot recover it. It exists purely to keep your conversations private on your phone.
To generate responses, this app sends conversation content to a third-party large-language-model provider, currently DeepSeek (in future possibly OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or on-device models).
What is sent: only the text of the messages you type and the recent conversation context needed to produce a reply. We do not send your account ID, email address, device identifiers, or any other profile information to the provider.
How it is collected: the only conversation data we collect is what you yourself type into the chat.
All uses of this data: the conversation content is used solely to generate the assistant's reply and to maintain your own conversation history inside the app. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone other than the AI provider named above.
Your permission: the app asks for your explicit consent on a notice shown before your first message, which names the provider and describes this sharing. Nothing is sent to the provider until you agree, and you can stop using the chat at any time.
Provider handling: the provider processes the conversation content to return a response and may retain it under its own published privacy policy, which we require to provide protections for this data consistent with this policy.
These legal pages set no cookies. The app stores your session token on your device using secure local storage.
AI Therapist is not intended for children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
AI Therapist is available worldwide. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with GDPR-like protections, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Use the data deletion page or email privacy@medical.26.systems.
We keep conversation messages and usage records for up to 24 months, after which they are deleted or irreversibly anonymized. You can delete your account at any time, as described on the data deletion page.
If this policy changes materially, we will show you the new version in the app and ask you to accept it before continuing.
